There’s a bit of a need to suspend disbelief at times in this story, but ultimately I thought it was a fun journey and the book reminded me of why I’ve loved Kubica’s writing so much in the past.

I couldn’t stop listening to the last 25% because I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. And the answers…totally didn’t see them coming! I thought I was so sure of the ending and Kubica turned everything upside down in the best way possible. I felt like I truly became connected to this story and was invested in finding out the answers to the mysteries at hand. I loved how detailed Kubica was about our character’s past and present storylines. Told through alternating narratives and alternating timelines, Kubica slowly reveals to the reader what exactly happened to Shelby, Meredith, and Delilah. I absolutely adore a twisty thriller and that’s exactly what LOCAL WOMAN MISSING delivers. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find. Eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once peaceful community.
